JOB DESCRIPTION:
Unit managers are responsible for managing the nursing unit.
They primarily supervise the daily care of patients and ensure quality patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of all nursing staff engaged in a designated unit
Authority, responsibility, and accountability for the overall management of residents in a designated unit
Responsible for transmitting each unit's staff concerns to the appropriate department supervisor.
Maintenance of Resident Care Plans and the overall management of resident care
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree from an accredited school of nursing
Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required
Must have a minimum of one year of experience in nursing service administration.
Additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.
Must possess knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations pertaining to long-term care.
Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
Strong customer service skills and compassion
Basic computer knowledge, PCC e-MAR experience preferred
Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
