*Position Summary: *
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part-time Kids Café Manager for the Laura Richardson Houghton Corning Youth Center to prepare and cook meals for children all year long.
We are seeking a candidate that can make nutritious eating fun and enjoyable.
*Position Responsibilities:* The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment for children and love the idea of preparing delicious and nutritious meals that bring joy to young hearts.
This position is responsible for budgeted grocery shopping, cooking and preparing healthy, creative meals and menus in accordance with Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
As the Kids Café Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed records of all purchases, receipts, and sign-in sheets.
The Kid’s Café Manager will plan and execute two or more community dinners and special events that bring as many as 100 people together.
In addition, the Kid’s Café Manager will get creative with holiday-themed meals and special events throughout the year.
This will include birthday cake making one on one with youth, Superbowl (Friday) Party’s, Valentines, Mardi Gras, St.
Patrick’s Day, etc.
, encouraging children to explore new foods and flavors in a supportive and fun environment.
The Kids Café Manager must also complete all necessary food related trainings and any other training requested by the program coordinator or director.
*Hours:* 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
*Agency Culture for Youth Services Employees: * The Kids Café Manager is provided with regular supervision and daily support from the Program Coordinator.
Additionally, the Café Manager collaborates with the Program Coordinator to enhance programing for youth.
Training to provide meal service to youth will be provided along with other staff development trainings such as, Mental Health First Aid, CPR, Mandated Reporter training, just to name a few.

During the school year, the CYC provides a snack and dinner for youth.
*Education and Experience Requirements:* Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in culinary is preferred, or a High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational management skills are desired.
This person would have good attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as a team.
