JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Store Manager
Reports to: District Manager
Job Summary: Responsible for day-to-day store operations including hiring, scheduling, training and supervising employees.
Also responsible for store profitability, budget, expense control, inventory levels, shortage control, customer service and safety.
This position is commission eligible with the opportunity to bring home $60,000.
00 + annually as well as the option to enroll in our management level benefits!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Recruit, hire train and retain a staff committed to excellent customer service.
Assure that the staff knows they are the very foundation of store operations.
2) Routinely communicate with staff regarding their working conditions and scheduling and encourage feedback to address any issues or concerns.
3) Provides input to District Manager regarding any recommended wage and salary changes for staff.
4) Assure that schedules are developed and communicated in advance within established company policies and procedures.
5) Provides excellent customer service to each Dandy customer who enters the store and set an example for staff to follow.
6) Greet customers upon entering the store.
7) React to customer issues promptly.
8) Ensures that store is maintained in a clean, orderly and pleasant condition.
Assigns staff duties accordingly.
9) Understand and follow established operational procedures and the policies within the Employee Handbook.
10) In consultation with District Manager and the Human Resources Dept.
(if appropriate), issues employee disciplinary warnings and/or conducts suspensions or terminations when necessary.
Provides written documentation of these actions.
11) Prevents cash and merchandise losses and oversees staff for compliance in this matter.
12) Accurately completes required paperwork on a timely basis.
Submits weekly time sheets/records to Payroll within required timelines.
13) Receives merchandise from suppliers and vendors and follows policies and procedures relative to same.
14) Price, stock and rotate stock as necessary.
15) Follows all safety and security policies and immediately reports accidents or injuries to Safety Director and District Manager.
Follows through on completing accident investigations and incident reports as soon as possible.
16) May be required to contact local law authorities to respond to real or suspected illegal or harmful actions on the part of customers.
Education and Training:
1) High school graduate or equivalent.
2) Proficiency in MS Office/Outlook and internet applications.
3) Good verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills.
Experience requirements:
1) Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the retail industry is required.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
1) Standing and walking around premises for extended periods of time.
2) Requires frequent bending and reaching.
3) Requires lifting 10-20 pounds of weight frequently and lifting or maneuvering up to 50 pounds of weight on a regular basis.
