Accounting Supervisor

Pay: $58,000 to $65,000 per year (depending on related experience) Nature of Work: The Accounting Supervisor will assist the Controller in the smooth operation of the Finance Office.
This position will oversee the biweekly payroll process, accounts payable process, and perform other accounting tasks.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel.
Essential Responsibilities or Functions of Position: 1.
Prepare and/or coordinate the biweekly payroll process and required filings.
2.
Supervise the payroll clerk and Accounts Payable clerk(s).
3.
Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of State Mandated quarterly and annual reports, including but not limited to OCFS SSOP, Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR), and TBI/NHTD Reporting.
4.
Post bank deposits into the financial reporting system.
5.
General Ledger Account Analysis and internal auditing.
6.
Manage asset capitalization and prepare depreciation schedules.
7.
Assist Controller with preparation of monthly journal entries.
8.
Perform backup duties for Controller and supervised staff as needed.
9.
Help with preparation of schedules for Annual Audit.
10.
Run various reports for Directors, Program Managers and staff as requested.
11.
Exercise courtesy and understanding and maintain strong written and oral communication skills.
12.
Inform Controller of any potential problems or concerns.
13.
Performs other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer or Controller and equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related combination of Education and work experience will be considered.
Supervisory experience preferred.
