Seize this opportunity to make memories with Camp Partners this Summer!* This is a seasonal/temporary position.
Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
You would be providing direct supervision, training, guidance and on-going support of camp participants enrolled in camp programs.
_*Job Specific Standards*_ 1.
Actively participates in ALL aspects of camp activities as deemed necessary by the Camp Manager or designee.
This includes, but is not limited to: swimming in a pool; eating meals with campers regardless if the food is brought from home by the Camp Counselor or is provided by the camp program; recreational sports and games; learning centers; and other activities as directed.
2.
Prepares supplies for camp routines on a daily basis.
3.
Maintains a clean and orderly camp environment.
Participates in the clean-up process at the end of the day.
Tasks include, but are not limited to: sweeping; mopping; cleaning bathrooms; and removing garbage.
4.
Assists with ambulating, toileting, transferring, feeding, meal preparation, clean-up and personal care.
5.
Completes and maintains daily observation notes as pertinent to camp participants’ progress.
6.
Administers first aid and medications in accordance with applicable camp regulations.
7.
Adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by camp programs.
8.
Demonstrates positive role-modeling in appearance, socialization and interactions with co-workers and camp participants.
9.
Assists camp participants in dealing with life-management problems in coordination with program supervisor via counseling, discussions with family and other team members or referrals to other appropriate agencies.
Assists with social integration and self-advocacy.
10.
Demonstrates a respectful attitude towards supervisors, co-workers and camp participants at all times.
11.
Maintains age appropriate activities with camp participants on a continuous basis.
12.
Complies with all civil and human rights policies and reports violations to the Camp Manager or designee.
_*Physical Activities/Requirements*_ 1.
Must be free from communicable diseases or take proper precautions as directed and authorized by a physician.
2.
Close visual acuity in order to view a computer monitor, frequently read emails, ISP’s, training materials and observation notes.
Required to have visual acuity in order to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
3.
Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
4.
Ascend or descend stairs or ramps.
5.
Bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
6.
Remain stationary for sustained periods of time.
7.
Move about on foot to accomplish tasks or move from one work site to another.
8.
Use upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward or to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
9.
Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
10.
Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to-position.
11.
Pick, pinch, type and apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
12.
Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
13.
Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
14.
Light Work.
Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
15.
Basic swimming skills in order to assist camp participants in a swimming pool.
_*Qualifications*_ *EDUCATION*: High School Diploma or equivalent OR if working towards High School Diploma or equivalent (if under the age of 18 and currently attending high school, must abide by the provisions of the Pennsylvania Child Labor Law.
) *TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*: Current Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
If not, employer will provide training to obtain current certifications; some experience working with youth with disabilities preferred.
*JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS*: Must demonstrate well-organized oral and written communication skills.

Ability to exercise creativity and flexibility.
Will maintain a customer service level commensurate with the expectations of the Partners In Progress, Inc.

*\*Preferred not required\** *DRIVER’S LICENSE*: May or may not be required to drive agency vehicles to meet program needs.
If authorized to drive agency vehicles, must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory three (3) year driving history in order to be considered an agency approved driver by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
